Terms of Service

Last updated: August 11, 2026

1. What Classmaite is

Classmaite (“we,” “us”) turns course syllabi and connected school accounts into calendars, reminders, and study plans. These terms are an agreement between you and Classmaite covering your use of myclassmaite.com and related services (the “Service”).

2. Your account

You need to be at least 13 years old (and old enough to consent to these terms where you live). You're responsible for your account credentials and for what happens under your account. Keep your password safe; tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

Syllabi you upload, courses you add, and events you create remain yours. You give us the limited license we need to process that content to run the Service — parsing syllabi, generating calendars and reminders, syncing to calendars you connect. We don't sell your content and we don't use your syllabi to advertise to you. Only upload material you have the right to use.

4. Connected services

If you connect Canvas, Google Calendar, or similar services, you authorize us to access them on your behalf to provide the Service. You can disconnect them at any time in Settings. Those services have their own terms, which are between you and them.

5. Plans, billing, and cancellation

You can parse one syllabus at myclassmaite.com/try with no account and no card. That is a demo, not a plan, and nothing about it recurs.

The Pro free trial requires a card and converts to a paid subscription automatically. The trial runs 7 days. You are not charged when it starts. At the end of the trial we charge the card you provided, and we keep charging it at the same price every term — monthly, per semester, or per year, whichever you picked — without further action from you, until you cancel. Cancel before the trial ends and you are charged nothing at all. The exact amount and the exact date of the first charge are shown to you before you enter card details, and again in Settings for as long as you have an account. We also email you before the trial converts.

Accounts created before August 11, 2026 under our earlier “first syllabus free, no card” offer keep that arrangement. We did not and will not retroactively move those accounts onto a trial.

To cancel: Settings → Cancel subscription. That is one click from inside the app and takes you straight to the confirmation — there is no phone call, no email required, and no retention offer to sit through. If that path ever fails you, email hello@myclassmaite.com and we will cancel it for you. Cancelling stops all future charges. Cancel during the free trial and you are never charged. Cancel after that and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not prorate refunds for the remainder of a term you chose to cancel partway through.

If Classmaite charged you after you cancelled, or charged you something you didn't agree to, email us and we will refund it. Prices may change with advance notice — never retroactively for a period you've already paid, and never on a renewal you weren't told about first. Calendar files you've already exported are yours regardless of your plan.

6. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the Service: no scraping at scale, probing or disrupting our infrastructure, circumventing plan limits, reselling access, uploading malware, or using the Service to violate anyone's rights or your school's policies. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. The honest caveats

Parsing is automated and sometimes imperfect — always review extracted dates before relying on them.Your syllabus, professor, and school registrar are the authoritative sources for deadlines; Classmaite is a convenience layer, not a guarantee. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Ending things

To delete your account and the data in it, email hello@myclassmaite.com from your account address and we'll do it within 30 days. Deleting your account is separate from cancelling a subscription — if you're paying, cancel in Settings first (see section 5), because deletion on its own doesn't stop billing. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, and we may discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; if a change is material we'll tell you (email or in-product) before it takes effect. Questions? Email hello@myclassmaite.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
