Due Gooder Alternatives: 5 Other Apps That Turn a Syllabus Into a Calendar

Quick answer

The best Due Gooder alternative depends on why you are leaving. For deadlines in Google, Apple, or Outlook Calendar plus a what-do-I-need-on-the-final calculator, Classmaite (first syllabus free, no account). For completely free with LMS sync on Android, Coursicle or DormWay. For a native Android app and a one-time term price, CalenDue. For a free one-off conversion with nothing uploaded, SyllabusSpy.

Try it with your own syllabus

What one upload looks like: a whole class on Google Calendar, color-coded, with every reading, quiz and exam.

Due Gooder is a good app. It reads a syllabus, builds a color-coded calendar, syncs to Google Calendar, and has widgets, class chats, and an AI study tier with lecture recording. If it is working for you — or you are at the University of Louisville, where Pro is free this year — keep it.

People look for an alternative for a handful of specific reasons: no Google Play listing we could find, Google Calendar as the only calendar it syncs to, paid tiers that changed in its August update, a 3.2-star App Store rating, or no grade tracking. Here is what each alternative does about those. We make Classmaite, so weigh our pick accordingly; every other app is described from its own site or listing as of October 12, 2026.

The short version

  • Best for your real calendar and your grade: Classmaite — Google, Apple, Outlook, or .ics; reads the grading table; first syllabus free with no account, then $9/mo.
  • Best fully free with LMS sync: Coursicle — free on iOS, Android, and web, syncs six LMSs, no scan or course cap per its own site.
  • Best free all-in-one planner: DormWay — unlimited syllabus uploads at $0 on its pricing page; web plus Apple apps, Android listed as coming soon.
  • Best native Android app: CalenDue — iOS and Android apps with a one-time $15 term pass.
  • Best for one class, nothing uploaded: SyllabusSpy — free, no account, reads a clean PDF in your browser.

1. Classmaite — deadlines in the calendar you already use, plus the grade math

Upload a syllabus as a PDF, Word doc, photo, or pasted text and in about 30 seconds Classmaite pulls out every assignment, exam, reading, class meeting time, and the grading table. You review and fix anything it misread before it goes anywhere, then sync to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook, or download an .ics. That review step is the main thing students leaving Due Gooder ask for.

Because it reads the grading table, it tells you where you stand in each class and, on Pro, what you need on what is left — something we did not find in Due Gooder. A six-character share code lets your whole section use one upload. Web app plus an iPhone app. First syllabus free with no account; Pro is $9/mo, $29 a semester, or $50 a year. What it does not have: widgets, class chats, lecture recording, or flashcards.

2. Coursicle — free, every platform, LMS-first

Coursicle is best known for class registration, and its assignment features are free on iOS, Android, and the web. Its own comparison with Due Gooder lists LMS sync for Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, Sakai, and Google Classroom, with no scan cap and no course cap; it charges only for registration seat alerts.

Pick it if your professors keep the LMS up to date and you want free and Android. It is weaker when the syllabus has dates that never make it into the LMS.

3. DormWay — the free planner

DormWay’s pricing page lists unlimited syllabus uploads, Canvas sync, an assignment tracker, and a GPA and grade calculator at $0, and its App Store listing says there are no paid tiers. It is a web app with Apple companion apps; Android is listed as coming soon, and other LMSs come in through calendar-feed import.

Pick it if price is the whole decision and you are happy keeping deadlines in a separate app.

4. CalenDue — native Android, one-time price

CalenDue has native iOS and Android apps, extracts classes, exams, and assignments from a syllabus PDF with a review step, and exports to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and .ics. It sells a one-time $15 term pass and bundles an AI study planner.

Pick it if you want a real Android app and would rather pay once a term than monthly. Full comparison: Classmaite vs CalenDue.

5. SyllabusSpy — free, no account, nothing uploaded

SyllabusSpy reads a syllabus PDF in your browser with rules rather than AI, so nothing is uploaded and no account is needed, and it gives you a calendar link that updates when you fix a date. It works best on clean, text-based PDFs and is weaker on Word docs, photos, and unusual layouts.

Pick it for a quick, private, one-class conversion.

How to switch from Due Gooder without duplicate events

  • Due Gooder writes events into Google Calendar. Before importing anywhere else, turn off its calendar sync, or delete the events it created, so you do not end up with every deadline twice.
  • Re-upload the original syllabus files rather than exporting from Due Gooder — a fresh extraction you can review is cleaner than copying over any dates it misread.
  • Import each class into its own calendar. If something goes wrong you can delete that one calendar and start over.
  • If you are paying through the App Store, cancel Due Gooder from your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel it.

Verdict

If you are leaving because you want your deadlines in Google, Apple, or Outlook Calendar and want to know what you need on the final, try Classmaite — your first syllabus is free with no account, so you can check it on your hardest PDF in a minute. If you are leaving because of price, Coursicle and DormWay are free. If you want a native Android app, CalenDue.
