What-If Grade Calculator
Enter your graded work with its weight, leave the rest blank, and pick the grade you want. The calculator says one of three things: it is already locked in, it is reachable and here is the average you need on what is left, or it is out of reach and here is the best you can still do.

Why three verdicts instead of one number
A single “you need 112%” is technically correct and practically useless. The verdict tells you which situation you are in. Locked in means even a zero on everything left clears the target. Reachable gives the average. Out of reach tells you the ceiling so you can aim for the letter below instead of the one you cannot get.
Coverage
The verdict is measured against the share of the grade you entered. If your rows only cover 85% of the grade, the answer is “what you need across the 85% I can see.” The calculator shows the coverage next to the verdict for that reason.
Frequently asked questions
How is “what I need on what is left” calculated?
Target share of the grade minus what you have already earned, divided by the weight still open. If you need 83 overall, have earned 52 points of grade across 65% of the course, and 35% is still open, you need (83 − 52) ÷ 35 = 88.6% on what is left.
Which letter cutoffs does it use?
The common US scale: A 93, A− 90, B+ 87, B 83, B− 80, C+ 77, C 73. Your syllabus may differ; type any percentage as the target.
